Woke up to clouds,
worked through the rain
and now the sun is shining
and I am headed home from the brick and mortar to sew .....
and have a bowl of strawberry short cake ....
I made the shortcake and cut up the fresh strawberries this morning before I left home.
I finished the 48 x 36 Poppies and have the logo ready enough to talk to the client about their needs.
Taking the pencil Daffodil drawing back home to work on it some more.
My hubby will be with friends to watch the final four (that's basketball, friends) and I too will be home alone with the cats and my crafts. (May even listen to the game as a play).
I hope you all have a sweet Saturday, with or without the strawberries .... make it a good one!

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!!!
Hello! I have been busy this week and slow to post ... photos would be great but words will have to do for right now.
I have picked up many new students for art classes ... I think this is because it is summer vacation and people have more time. I enjoy meeting new people of various ages and interests.
This week I have scheduled meetings with two art groups, one in town and one in a neighboring town. I try to take advantage of any gathering of artists ... even if I'm not 100% interested in what the group is offering, I try to get involved. Ii is so energizing to talk with other creative minds.
I am working on a watercolor based on photographs I took at the local farmers' market. I like the way it is progressing and have taken photographs as I have been working on it to post here soon.
I am preparing to teach a workshop this Saturday using RED POPPIES as the theme.
Check back often! I will be updating with details and photos.

Watercolor Society of Indiana
My work, Poppies, is part of the Watercolor Society of Indiana Member's Show at the America One in INDIANAPOLIS IN through June 26, 2009.
I spent the day in Indianapolis recently at an event with the Watercolor Society of Indiana. I was able to visit with other artists, share ideas and enjoy the live demonstration by master watercolor artist, Don Andrews. His demo was lively, entertaining and educational ... I am always interested in seeing others paint and pick up a few pointers. His work is very fresh and fluid ... I am anxious to attempt a painting with the bold approach he encouraged us all to try.

Ta - da!!!!
I can now walk away from the Easter Pear!!!
Easter Pear?
I like pears better than eggs!!!
Easter Pear Step 1
Step 1 - I thought this would be enough ... silly me!
Easter Pear Step 2
Step 2 - I wanted to add a bit of EGG Whimsy.
Easter Pear Step 3
Step 3 - It wouldn't be mine if there weren't any cast shadows.
Easter Pear Step 4
Step 4 - And I love a good implied table line ... don't you??
Easter Pear Step 5
Step 5 - Oh, better kick up the value a bit!
Easter Pear Step 6
Step 6 - The background could use a value shift.
Easter Pear Step 7
Step 7 - Add, of course we need a bit of implied texture!
