Making progress .....

I was able to almost complete the RED POPPY and the ORANGE LILY .... I think they both may need a bit more attention but need to let them dry to really SEE the colors and make the decision.

I am still trying to select the GREEN flower ... the one I thought I would use is an allium or onion so I decided against it ... my next thought was my sisiter's cactus but that doesn't feel right either.

All of the other 5 paintings in this color theory series are from my own photos ... so I will look some more and walk around the neighborhood tonight - perhaps the inspriation and resource I need is right around the corner.

  1. You need Bells of Ireland.....they are exquisite, and would make a dynamic composition!

  2. Anne, just googled them - interesting. I have a bell shaped flower in my landscaping that is white with a bit of green on them . . . I think I am going with them ... thanks for the idea ... do you grow them<

  4. I used to grow them Teri....they would just come up from seed. Then I lost all of them and could not find the plants around here; I'm thinking they are biennial.
Snowdrops have a fair amount of green and of course the white....Solomons Seal has the little pale yellow green flowers hanging from the long green leafed stem, there are always the lovely ostrich ferns (I photographed mine at the fiddle-head stage) and if you're lucky, you can find some unusual green orchids.
That sort of picks all the brain I have left at the moment!!! HA!

    XXOO!!

  5. I think the flower that I photographed is the Snowdrops, and yes, they are white but they do have a dash a green on each petal.
    that may be it!
    but
I may have some photos of orchids .... will check them out tonight
    thanks Anne
