I am seeing STARS.....

and loving it!!!!

I purchased a few wonderfully crafted hand made stars from a new Etsy friend. I loved the look of them in her shop, all clustered together and papery (I love paper).

Hanging them on my tree for resale in my shop was the plan and they looked great ... but the dear little things called out to me for more paper, more stuff ... who could resist? (My brushes talk to me as well ...I deal with it!)

I put out a crafter's call for help to a friend I thought might have a paper punch that I could borrow .... she just giggled and came over to my studio with her Cricut. We spent about an hour (with the neighbor girls and another artist friend watching) as this machine made easy work of the task of cutting out little hearts and starts from the paper in my own stash.

Creative people love to help each other out ... we learn from each other and sharing is a two way street - everyone in that room learned something this afternoon ... thanks to my Cricut friend (who says I can stop by her studio whenever I need a Cricut fix .... I should have asked for some snowflakes... next time!!!

  1. Wonderful!! I love the idea that you have personalized the tags and I love collaboration more than anything! Thank you for sharing your blog with me, Teri. You have really helped me figure out how I want to present my ornaments in my store . . . they need the buyer's personal touch! I (Green Post) am merely creating the "canvas" for inspiration to happen upon. Since I am also a painter (teamzvonik.etsy.com), it is interesting for me to be on the materials side of the creative process with my paper.
I look forward to our future exchanges and I will be following your blog now :)
    Your friend,
    Kendra

Step 1 - I thought this would be enough ... silly me!

Step 2 - I wanted to add a bit of EGG Whimsy.

Step 3 - It wouldn't be mine if there weren't any cast shadows.

Step 4 - And I love a good implied table line ... don't you??

Step 6 - The background could use a value shift.
