This is my second showcase of an artist who's work has caught my eye.
Fall is here and winter, well, they say it is not far behind ... I can do without the cold. Even though it's title "Winter" should send me elsewhere, I know why I am attracted to this screenprint: it combines colors, imagery and shapes that please the eye and the senses.
I am drawn to leaves and trees and this piece uses both of these in an unpredictable way ... usually the tree is large and the leaves are smaller and supportive ... I think this is a brilliant way to engage the viewer. Well done!
The artist, Allison, says there will be three more prints in this seasonal series.
I will quietly wait for the others to appear.
I hope that you will check out her other work and make comments to her or here on the blog. I learn from seeing and talking about what I see ...

Ta - da!!!!

I can now walk away from the Easter Pear!!!
Easter Pear?

I like pears better than eggs!!!
Easter Pear Step 1

Step 1 - I thought this would be enough ... silly me!
Easter Pear Step 2

Step 2 - I wanted to add a bit of EGG Whimsy.
Easter Pear Step 3

Step 3 - It wouldn't be mine if there weren't any cast shadows.
Easter Pear Step 4

Step 4 - And I love a good implied table line ... don't you??
Easter Pear Step 5

Step 5 - Oh, better kick up the value a bit!
Easter Pear Step 6

Step 6 - The background could use a value shift.
Easter Pear Step 7

Step 7 - Add, of course we need a bit of implied texture!
Thank you so much for liking my work enough to feature my Winter 2008 print! I'm hoping to have the Fall 2009 one done soon too.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is lovely too, thanks very much again!
