I love to draw trees with all their unique personality ... not the high maintenance ones that the landscaper trimmed and pruned but the older, classic, thick and twisted ones, neglected and growing on their own over the years into a majestic giant!
I draw them and teach the drawing of them whenever the class or student requests trees as a subject ... sometimes even when they don't. I choose to do just that today and we all had fun and got messy with crayons and graphite.
When ever I work on the tree I demonstrate the basics and then observe my students at work to prompt them into adding just a few more limbs and twigs. As the day comes to an end, I look back at my own work and could almost scream .... I need about 10,000 more limbs and twigs. It is amazing what a few more will do...
Never stop with "just enough" ... push yourself and your work ... there is always room for just a few more!
