Most of us love a carousel,
a merry go round,
the music and colors,
reaching for the brass ring!
Our town is blessed to have an historical and well cared for Dentzel Carousel. The animals have been accurately restored and are impressive and inspirational to view.
I visit it often and have created paintings, drawings and a children's book based on the animals and the carousel itself. Other artists are drawn to it as well, like this former student of mine, Photographer, Kevin W. Burkett. It makes me very proud to see the creative abilities of my students flourish as they make their life choices.
Let yourself go, let your mind wander ... find the areas in your own hometown that are worth documenting and then do it in your own unique way.

The last time I was at the carousel, I was in high school. We had skipped school and were hanging in Logan so as not to get caught. Had lunch at Hap's and then the carousel.
