Back in the studio......

Hello everyone ... back in the studio today after a week in YUMA AZ. The air conditioning is a must and the swimming pool was a real plus!

I was able to visit with my family and relax ... came back and taught a lesson today using the skull from my sister and brother in law's yard ... no one liked it as much as I did ... the old saying, "You had to be there!" came into my mind.

We should paint what we know and love ... keep that in mind when you select the subjects for your paintings! The skull was still a good lesson and there are many things to learn from it, but my students like subjects closer to home!

  1. Art and beauty are in the eye of the beholder. I'm glad to see that you're not afraid to step outside the box and capture something not normally found in a typical Indiana backyard. :)
