We were just hanging around in the morning, my hubby ready to leave for work, I was in the kitchen and my family was in their bedrooms ... it sounded like a stream of firecrackers, popping and cracking, annoyingly filling the quiet morning air.
As we all walked out into the front yard, we saw the LARGE maple tree branch, laying across the neighbor's drive way, pulling down the wires and blocking their garage.
No wind, no weather, brought this majestic limb to it's final resting place; age and rot had weakened it enough to surprise us with the unexpected tasks of tree limb removal, utilities, phone, cable repair, insurance calls and stress. Luckily, no one was hurt and the repairs are almost all completed.
Just when you think you have a plan ... life throws you a fast one!

I heard that sound over and over after the ice storm; my willows were breaking apart, and it is the saddest, most mournful sound in the world.....
