Good use of time!

Tuesday was planned, scheduled, organized but wouldn't you know it, things changed!! My AM students called and canceled so my entire morning clear up!

Silver lining!!! Good news - bad news! Make the most of it!!!!

My mind quickly went to the stack of SEVERAL note cards that threatened to topple off their resting place on the far corner of my work table. I settled into my comfy chair and slowly took the first card off the top of the pile and worked my way through the dozen or more half finished images. I enjoyed the task of rethinking the designs and working on every card in that pile. I completed all of them before lunch!

Each image needed just a few minutes of my time ... but by neglecting these little gems, I was lacking inventory in the "brick and mortar". Finishing these cards filled the empty spots on the card rack and resulted in a little less clutter in the studio.

Now, if people will just flock in to make their purchases (smile)!

My afternoon was already penciled in for studio time and I was on a roll, charged, feeling creative after successfully completing all the little cards (size doesn't matter, right?) I was able to sketch out four (yes, 4) 15 x 11 house portraits and called the client, making arrangements for her to stop by and view the work in progress tomorrow.

I also put in some quality time working out my idea for an art challenge based on the word "SPECTRAL". I went to my handy dandy dictionary and looked up this word to confirm what I thought was true, it means ghostly and/or having to do with spectrum colors (rainbow). I was intrigued by the ghostly part of the definition more so than the color wheel part. I believe I have an interesting solution to share with the group at tomorrow's meeting. I will post the image after the group see's it ... check back in on Thursday. Why don't you think about what you would create for this challenge and send me a post/link with your idea/image.

  1. You were busy-busy!!!! I just spent the day on the road, but got to have lunch with recently moved friends and that made all the driving and lack of studio time worth it.
Of course, today is a repeat of yesterday.....without the lunch.
Congrats on getting so much done!!!!

  2. Haha. You sound like me: running around and having a to-do list that stretches off the page. Good luck with everything! Hope to see you for the next giveaway! I can't wait to reveal it!
