Finish Up Saturday!!

I decided to use this day for finishing a few watercolors. Before I begin any new projects, I thought it would be time well spent to complete a few. I have only put a small dent in the pile of beginnings.

I love BEGINNING!

The start of a new watercolor is the most fun for me. I love the splash and splatter of fresh paint on a sparkling white piece of watercolor paper. The spontaneous mix of the colors and the water is the MOST exciting part. To complete a painting, I have to settle down, THINK and create something. That can be the difficult part ... there are so many directions that the painting could take!

I posted two of the finished watercolors on my etys site but this one of the yellow iris still needs a bit more work. That can be the dragging point of the entire painting process ... when is it "done"?

Ah, but that is another blog topic!

  1. Love that yellow in the iris--it is so bright and cheery!
Sorry I have been lax in posting--going too many directions in my "Hop-Along-Cassidy" condition! HA!
I love starting things and like you, when I get to that serious thinking point, the mind tends to wander ELSEWHERE.....though I have found on my box canvas pieces, if I can be left alone, I usually can get them doen because they encompass so much, each part is like a *new* piece.
