First Blog - I love being an artist!

Hello
This is going to be my blog about being an artist,
becoming an artist
and relaxing about making art.

I have years of knowledge tucked away in my head from teaching middle school art for over 30 years and working on my own art career.
I love to teach, mentor and create.

My first hint to anyone who wants for be creative is to relax and think positive.
Positive talk will help you succeed. Look around and relax...........every day, as you exercise your creative brain, it will become easier to think creatively. It doesn't happen over night, like magic; it happens over time, with dedication and positive thinking.
My second hint, set up a place for your art. If it is a TV tray, a card table or a desk in the corner of a room........set up your area with your supplies and leave them out..........ready......waiting........calling to you.......so that when the urge hits and you have a half hour, you will be able to play with your stuff.
As a young artist many years ago, I too worked on the kitchen table, so that a half hour of studio time was 10 minutes of set up, 10 minutes of creating and 10 minutes of clean up........and many times that seemed too depressing so why do it?

So relax and think positive.
